Experience from the ENNEREG Regions [EN] This report on the Evaluation of ENNEREG Communication and Dissemination Activities provides an analysis of the dissemination activities of the ENNEREG project. In particular it evaluates the effectiveness of the online dissemination via the ENNEREG Regions 202020 website. The aim of this Summary Report, is to illustrate the effectiveness of the Regions 202020 website and Regions 202020 Network as a dissemination, promotion, networking and communications platform for Sustainable Energy Regions throughout Europe.

The NEW Neue Energien West eG / Bürger-Energiegenossenschaft West eG is one successful regional example for a renewable energy coop originally being funded as inter-communal cooperation between 8 municipalities, all located in the administrative district of Neustadt/Waldnaab / Upper Palatinate (27.02.2009).
Until today, the NEW eG invested into three large-scale groundmounted PV installations (solar farm Döllnitz, 1.3 MW; solar farms Barbaraberg 1 / 2, 3.1 MW) and several smaller roof-mounted PV systems.
The NEW and Bürger eG are also offering other services supporting the sustainable use of energy in the region, e.g. energy consulting services, thermalgraphy of buildings, issue of energy performance certificates for buildings, cleaning of PV modules, joint procurement, etc.

BUILDUP Cases of good practice in energy saving
Good Practice Collection / Publication [EN] The BUILDUP database includes concrete, realised good practices in energy saving for buildings. These include, for example, demonstration projects, reports, energy saving campaigns, activities such as awarding new certificates. Cases may refer to different topics, including energy saving technologies, financial schemes, energy management in buildings, design and labels for low-energy buildings, monitoring, training & education.

BUILDUP Tools to support energy saving in buildings
Tool / Methodology [EN] The BUILDUP tools section enables you to find and share interesting tools from all over Europe supporting the implementation of energy saving measures in buildings. ENNEREG Sustainable Energy Twinning Programme Summary
Experience from the ENNEREG Regions [EN] As part of the project, 12 Pioneer ENNEREG Regions have been producing regional Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs) and initiating Sustainable Energy Projects (SEPs). The ENNEREG Pioneer Regions have been sharing their experience directly with 12 ENNEREG Twin Regions and ENNEREG has also been actively promoting replication in Sustainable Regions throughout Europe. This report concerns the ENNEREG Pioneer Regions’ support activities to twin regions.

Replacement of obsolete district heating pipelines, Kaunas City, Lithuania - ENNEREG Good Practice in Energy Efficiency in Industry
ENNEREG Good Practice [EN] District heating system is vitally important energy carrier in Lithuania as especially in large towns. It covers over 50% of heat supply in total, and this percent is over 65% in Kaunas City. On the other hand heating needs significant share of family expenses, especially during cold period October- April. This requires significant efforts from district heating companies to reduce heat supply costs, which is done in two ways: reduction of heat supply losses in the pipelines, and introduction of biomass sources for heat generation via conversion. Currently there are approximately 18% of renovated pre-insulated pipelines in Kaunas City. The rest are still old obsolete channel pipelines. Renovation of pipelines takes place simultaneously with network optimizations, i.e. adjusting of pipeline diameters.

ENNEREG Good Practice [EN] District heating system is vitally important energy carrier in Lithuania as especially in large towns. Kaunas City and Kaunas Regional Municipalities depend mainly on natural gas, which cover about 90% of total fuel in district heating. Garliava boiler-house conversion from natural gas to biomass is currently the largest biomass boiler-house in Kaunas regional municipality with capacity 6.5 MW.

District Heating with biomass in Orozko, Spain - ENNEREG Good Practice in Renewable Energy

This project supplies a range of 432 houses and 2 municipal buildings (the school and the sports centre) with warm sanitary water and heating through a centralized system which has biomass as its main source of primary energy.
This project promoted by the Orozko municipality aims to meet the thermal demand (heating and warm sanitary water) through a centralized system which has biomass as its main source of primary energy. The project is implemented in two phases: the first phase provides heating for the sports centre and the elementary education centre. The second phase is a district heating network for a new housing development.
The installation of district heating centralized system offers several advantages: avoids chimneys and installations of heat in buildings, improves the quality of air, average savings higher than 15% compared with traditional systems, savings on the initial investment of more than 22% and savings of required surface for installations.

Study visit Sweden 5-8 March 2012.
W dniach 5-8 marca 2012 odbyła się wizyta studyjna do Szwecji, której celem było bezpośrednie zapoznanie się z dobrymi praktykami produkcji i obróbki biomasy pochodzącej z gospodarstw rolnych do produkcji energii cieplnej i elektrycznej. Organizatorem spotkania była Warmińsko-Mazurska Agencja Energetyczna Sp. z o.o. Finansowo przedsięwzięcie to zostało wsparte dotacją z Wojewódzkiego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Olsztynie. Uczestnikami projektu byli rolnicy zainteresowani inwestycjami w OZE.

Biogazownia w Boleszynie

The first agricultural biogas plant in the Warmia-Masuria Region (Boleszyn) started production in 2012. The biogas plant with a capacity of 1.2 MW will supply public buildings and the inhabitants of Boleszyn with thermal energy and electrical energy, which will be resold to energy networks. Substrates for biogas production will be corn silage, slurry from pig farms, as well as seasonally waste from the distillery and whey.

Na uroczystości nie zabrakło przedstawicieli Władz Województwa, w tym Wicemarszałka – Jarosława Marka Słomy oraz licznych delegatów zaproszonych na oficjalne otwarcie.

Initiative [EN] Energy Cities is the European Association of local authorities inventing their energy future. The association, with a Board of Directors from 11 European cities, was created in 1990 and now represents now more than 1,000 towns and cities in 30 countries. It has offices in Brussels (BE) and Besançon (FR). It is an Official Associate of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign.

Presentation Steering group Meeting Climate Interaction Blekinge April 26th 2012
Presentation [SV] Second meeting for the steering group started with a seminar on climate change in the morning. In the afternoon the development of the SEAP was presented among other things and resulted in giving discussions. The county Governor is very happy with the network activities and the progress of the SEAP

MORE4NRG Good Practice Catalogue - November 2009
Good Practice Collection / Publication [EN] This catalogue includes 24 good practices in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) and energy efficiency (EE) put forward by the MORE4NRG project partners. It shows that there are many good initiatives in all the participating regions. MORE4NRG provides the participating regions with the opportunity to share these good practices and become even more inspired by the knowledge and experiences they have come across.
