Energikontor Sydost AB is a Energy Agency working at the Regional level.

Energikontor Sydost AB is a stakeholder of Blekinge, Sweden. Blekinge is a sustainable energy community within Southeast Sweden.

The Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden Ltd strives for an increased energy efficiency and supply of renewable energy. Its work is performed within various collaborative and developmental projects from local and regional up to European level. The Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden Ltd is owned by the Association of the Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden which members consist of municipalities, county councils and regional councils in the counties of Blekinge, Kalmar and Kronoberg. The Agency has got around 25 employees and the head office is located in Växjö, regional offices are found in Kalmar, Karlskrona and Oskarshamn.

The Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden shall actively contribute to the creation of a sustainable energy system in our region, as a good example in Europe. We shall offer current, objective and impartial information and knowledge within the energy and transport sectors.

The Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden has since the start 1999 initiated, participated in or coordinated over 200 projects on local, regional, national and European level. All these projects have had as a purpose to increase the energy efficiency in different sectors of our society.

Among the clients are the EU, the Swedish Energy Agency, the Swedish Transport Administration, the National Agency of Education and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, aswell as regional clients in the public and private sectors in the southeast of Sweden. The Agency´s EU-projects are carried out in collaboration with other regional energy agencies and organisations all over Europe. The Energy Agency of Southeast Sweden is a member of the Association of Swedish Regional Energy Agencies and its European counterpart FEDARENE, and actively participate in their boards.

The Agency´s operational focus is divided into three areas where it pursues projects with different aims:

  1. Buildings - Energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and bioenergy.
  2. Transports – Sustainable travelling, goods transport and fuels.
  3. Learning and lifestyles – Information, school activities and attitudes.

Important aspects of the work in the projects are to carry out investigations, create networks and disseminate information on experiences and good examples. They disseminate information from these examples and experiences mainly as an organiser of, or participant in, seminars and lectures at conferences and educational institutions. They also disseminate information through articles, reports, brochures, papers, newsletters and websites.
