Provincia di Genova is a Covenant of Mayors Coordinator. Find out more on the Covenant of Mayors website.

Within the Province of Genova, 5 small municipalities located in the same area decided to join climate protection efforts and develop a common strategy. A multi-municipal integrated SEAP was approved by the local councils in June 2012, with implementation to start soon. This includes actions that they would not have been able to deal with on their own.

Joint action in the Province of Genova

e-Bulletin [EN] Within the Province of Genova, 5 small municipalities located in the same area decided to join climate protection efforts and develop a common strategy. A multi-municipal integrated SEAP was approved by the local councils in June 2012, with implementation to start soon. This includes actions that they would not have been able to deal with on their own. Other notable examples of joint actions led by the Province through the Energy for Mayors project are also described.

Piano d’Azione per l'Energia Sostenible Sovracomunale Valli S.O.L.

SEAP Document [IT] I Comuni di Campo Ligure, Masone, Mele, Rossiglione e Tiglieto hanno aderito all'iniziativa comunitaria denominata "Patto dei Sindaci", il progetto dell'Unione Europea che coinvolge le Amministrazioni Locali ed i cittadini nella lotta al riscaldamento globale. La sottoscrizione al "Patto dei Sindaci", impegno volontario delle Amministrazioni Locali, prevede di andare oltre gli obiettivi indicati dall'Unione Europea (tramite l'emanazione del Protocollo di Kyoto) ovvero di ridurre le emissioni di anidride carbonica - CO2 di almeno il 20 % sul proprio territorio entro l'anno 2020 attraverso la pianificazione e l'attuazione concreta di misure ed azioni di efficienza e di risparmio energetico e di energia da fonti rinnovabili.

Energy for Mayors Energy Days during EUSEW 2012

Conclusions [EN] Many activities have been initiated in spring 2012 in communities across Europe – with Energy Days enthusiastically organised by municipalities. Several of the Energy for Mayors partners, as Covenant Coordinators, prepared appealing programmes to involve a variety of local stakeholders. This year there was a special focus on children, in part for fun, but also as an “amplifier group” of key messages to and in their community.

Past Events

  • Innovative [and practical] approaches on how to make the Covenant of Mayors a success
    21 June 2012, 14:00-18:00, Charlemagne Building, Brussels, Belgium

    This event, jointly organized by Climate Alliance, Energy Cities, Fedarene and ICLEI Europe will present how cities and towns link to actors that support them, available offers of training, great examples that can be replicated, and how to stimulate the green urban economy- linking to the RIO+20 outcomes. The event will explore effective multi-level governance and the role of Covenant Coordinators & Supporters.
